CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON ALAMO IN VANCOUVER

All well. They told me clearly that if any danage they will charge me 500 dollars subsequently i have to claim from other insurance company.

My additional insurance was in HK dollars. I have no connection with Hong kong. How would Hong Kong AXA cover?

The car was in excellent condition, very new. Communication was smooth, and picking up and returning the car at the airport was very convenient.

Easy to find the counter at the YVR Airport. Pickup car easy and car conditions are good. Return car also easy and fast.

Easy to choose car and booking.

Entire process went smoothly. Car was new and clean. Drop-off was easy as well, we were slightly late to return the car and Alamo waived any additional charges.

A $99 CAD refueling fee upon return is very expensive. They charged $612 CAD at pickup including a deposit, and another $423 CAD after return. I complained to Zuzuche, but no response yet.

There was only one person in line when picking up the car, so the process was quite fast. Initially, they gave me the wrong car, a Ford FLEX, which was also large but smaller than the Suburban. I estimated that the luggage space wouldn't be sufficient, so they changed it after I pointed it out. They strongly recommended the roadside assistance plan, which costs 7 CAD per day. I hadn't intended to buy it, but considering the mountain roads, I bought it for peace of mind. In the end, I didn't need to use it. When returning the car, I was charged a late fee. After disputing it, the fee was waived. Although I did return the car about ten minutes late, the staff had indicated that up to an hour would be fine, which is why I was a bit late. Next time, I'll make sure to return it on time. My agreement was to return the car with a full tank, but the gas station attendant didn't fill it completely, which wasn't really my fault as I had asked him to fill it up. Fortunately, there was no penalty.

Pros: Did Not charge extra for satnav, free upgrade on request, friendly staff, relaxed damage policy. Cons: Cruise Parking Garage Check in desk PCs broken so had to haul luggage up 3 levels to busy foyer desk, knife had been left in car from previous occupant
