Got a Volkswagen of the same class, 30,000 kilometers, car condition was good, could connect to CarPlay, trunk just fit two 28-inch suitcases.

The service at the Christchurch Airport car rental store was very smooth. Communication using simple language and mobile translation was effortless. After reviewing the rental order, the customer service representative patiently explained the pickup route and provided a booklet on New Zealand traffic regulations.

The airport branch is easy to find by following the signs. The Rental Car signs for picking up and returning cars in the airport parking lot are also very visible. However, when picking up the car, I mentioned that I had already purchased insurance Option Two during the rental, and that I only needed to add a second driver now. I even used my phone to translate that I had already bought insurance Option Two and didn't need any additional coverage, just the second driver. Still, the staff charged me 115.40 NZD.

They charged an additional 137 euros for insurance at pickup, almost 1000 RMB. This was partly due to our language barrier and their aggressive upselling.

The vehicle is relatively new, but the roads in New Zealand are narrower than those at home. Driving a large SUV feels a bit stressful, constantly watching both lane lines.

I only inquired about whether insurance was needed and whether the car should be returned with a full tank, other than that they didn't bother me with unnecessary details, which was nice. As for the car model, the staff selects it for you (with company A, you can choose a car of the same specifications in the parking area yourself). If you have specific model requirements, you might want to ask when they confirm your order. I used to always go with company A because they had an automated pickup machine which saved dealing with staff. This time, I found out that the automated machine was shut down, and I had to wait in line to talk to the staff.

Overall it's alright. They replaced with a similar car, it's a new vehicle but the performance is just average.

I did have some issues during the pick up about location of the Budget counter about which the QEEQ staff were very knowledgeable and also very helpful in resolving the situation immediately during all my correspondences with them - and also followed up with me timely on the status.
