CORK AIRPORT CAR RENTAL REVIEWS

We had a very frustrating experience where we were not allowed to take the car off the lot without purchasing additional insurance, despite showing them proof of coverage. This has been an ongoing process to get this money refunded.

The agent on site, Robert, despite making me wait 15 minutes at the airport for pick-up, was pleasant when I picked up the car, presumably as he was trying to up sell me all the various extras. The same individual was a completely different character when I dropped the car off. When inspecting the car, he almost immediately pointed out a scratch on the back-left wheel arch which he conveniently failed to find when I picked up the car. His immediate reaction when I said the scratch was did not occur during my rental was that it was not on the check-in sheet, therefore I was liable for the repair, and would therefore lose my €2,100 excess. The speed at which he went for the back-left wheel arch suggests he knew the scratch was there already. Presumably he is on commission to encourage him to charge customers. Luckily for me, I took photos of the car when I picked it up so I was able to clearly show that the scratch was on the car prior to my rental, much to his visible disappointment. The car I rented had numerous scratches on it. It was not cleaned properly ahead of my rental, inside or out. The attitude of the agent was abysmal. The fact he attempted to scam me out of my full €2,100 deposit left me feeling indignant. In future I won’t make the same mistake by using Easirent. I’ll be sure to use Thrifty, Budget or one of the other more reputable rental companies. I’ve been renting cars regularly for 15 years and I’ve never had such bad service. Everything was good, there was no any problem, we got a brand new car.

The one thing I noticed was that the car was not full when I rented it. There was slightly more than 3/4 of fuel in the tank rather than full.

The man working the counter at cork airport was absolutely great helped me out a lot when I had to call as my flight was delayed a credit to your company

The car was awful, dirty on the outside and inside and the man who served me was not pleasant and also when he collected me from the airport used his mobile phone while driving. Also accused me of smoking in the vehicle (which I did not) directly after putting out a cigarette and sitting directly into the car.

With the full insurance it was more expensive than expected

Like: Incredible price for three days, guy at airport service desk was laid back, very pleasant and there was no pressure, VW Polo was nearly new, in good condition and great little car
Dislike: When I returned the car, I couldn't find anyone to check it in so I went to reception. The guy asked if everything was ok and took the keys; trusting I had not damaged the car. I realised afterwards that they were still able to take money from my credit card so I checked my card for a few days afterwards. Everything was fine but it would have been even better if I'd had it confirmed earlier. Not a problem but that's the only thing I can think of where the experience could have been even better. I will hire a car again through Easy Rent / Thrifty when I'm in Ireland and next time I will be familiar with the procedure. Thank you

Dislike: did not like that i had to pay 19e per day for insurance as credit card and excess did not match, that was a surprise i could have done without. good car though and easy on petrol.

L’agence de location était très bien et le personnel accueillant. Je recommande à 100%.

Le site est très facile à utiliser et les prix sont super.

Budget est un très bon loueur de véhicule par contre l'agent vous prélève forcement le plein du véhicule à la prise de celui-ci et si vous ramener la voiture avec le plein cette somme nous est recrédité.

The car was much smaller than what we paid for. The car also had tracking issues and the front right tyre was bald!!!

No it was a Qashqui not a Tuscon and wouldn't fit 5 passengers. The staff said we need to take out extra insurance but I said we had done it with you and we were told it wasn't good enough although it was the same. We also had to use a credit card for £2000 excess incase of an accident but were told had we gone direct we wouldn't need to.

Mirror got scratched, but they didn't blame me. Thumbs up!

We were stopped by the police for a routine stop. They found that the insurance sticker in the car was out of date. They were not best pleased, neither was I.
