“Jerusalem - Masada - Dead Sea - Ramon - Haifa - Tel Aviv - Airport”
About CAL AUTO:2.0/10
1: The wait time at the Jerusalem branch was very long compared to car rental experiences in Western countries; it took over an hour from arrival to driving off. 2: I requested a full tank for both pickup and return, but the car was only 75% full, and the rental company refused to fill it up. 3: I was informed only at pickup that returning the car at the airport would cost an additional 150 NIS (approximately 290 RMB), and I had no choice but to accept it since changing plans wasn't feasible. 4: When returning the car, they questioned the dents, but I showed them a video from the time of rental, which resolved the issue. 5: I returned the car with a full tank, but the CAL AUTO staff claimed that the pickup branch's failure to provide a full tank wasn't their responsibility and refused to refund the 25% tank fee. They only relented after I threatened to file a complaint. The process involved long delays, first with prolonged calculations, followed by a refusal to refund in shekels and insisting on dollars, and finally claiming a lack of change in dollars. Fortunately, we arrived early at the airport and had change, or we would have been overcharged. It was very frustrating.
“From Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, then to Tel Aviv Airport”
About Europcar:8.0/10
The counter for car pickup was very helpful. Since there were many people, they asked several times if I wanted to sit down for a bit. However, during the process, I was informed that exchanging the car at the airport would require an additional $39. This was not mentioned on the QEEQ app, and QEEQ had already been fully prepaid. Called QEEQ customer service, but after communicating with the staff, the issue is still pending. The attitude in the car pickup parking lot was indifferent.
The car had a security code that wasn't properly explained, causing the car to not start on the road, which was very dangerous. Other services were okay.
Due to traffic, I arrived at Europcar in downtown Jerusalem at 11:00 AM. The staff impatiently told me 'you are late, your car has been cancelled.' I have so many questions—where is it written in the policy that you cannot be late for pickup? I paid the full amount as a prepayment. With no other option, I had to communicate with this extremely dismissive staff member, demanding that they provide a car and show me the contract clause stating I cannot be late.
I booked a GPS on the ZuZuChe website, but the store did not have it ready. They claimed they hadn't received any notification and didn't have any extra GPS devices available. As a result, I had to buy a SIM card and data package from a nearby store for 200 shekels, and then download and set up the navigation app, which wasted almost half a day and forced me to cancel some planned activities.
