Driver's License Requirements

The main driver and any additional drivers will need to provide a physical full driving license in their name with no major endorsements. The license should be held for at least 1-2 year(s).

The following models require 1 year's of license holding time: Ford Focus, Opel Corsa Aut., Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Panda, Mitsubishi L 200-diesel--4wd, Mercedes-benz Novo Vito

The following models require 3 year's of license holding time: Volvo Xc40, Opel Insignia, Opel Insignia, Renault Grand Scenic

For foreign renters, you need to bring:

Original driving licence + International Driving Permit (IDP)

Please note that an International Driving Permit(IDP) is only a translation.You must present your original driving licence with the original IDP at the counter.

For local renters, you need to bring:

Depending on which countries to bring the rental cars to, policies differ:
North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo
Hertz vehicles can be driven into (but not dropped off in) North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo* only. You will need a green card to cross the border. Hertz vehicles cannot be driven into any country which is known to be at war or under an embargo by the United Nations, unless a deposit equal to the value of the rented vehicle is left at the beginning of the rental. * Vehicles rented in Tirana can be dropped off in Pristina (Kosovo region) - An additional fee of USD 150.00 will apply. Should these restrictions be ignored all insurance (Third Party Liability, CDW, TP, PAI), if accepted, shall be deemed, null and void. The driver will be held fully responsible in case of accidents and will bear all consequences, including the cost of repatriation of the damaged vehicle.
