Pick-up Instructions

Shuttle pickup and information Interislander: 0800 802 802 Collect your vehicle from the Ace office at the Interislander ferry terminal. Bluebridge: 0800 162 322 Take the free Bluebridge bus around to the Interislander terminal where the Ace Picton office is located.

Drop-off Instructions

Remember to re-fuel to agreed level when returning your vehicle. DEPARTING FERRY PASSENGERS Allow an additional 15 minutes prior to boarding time for vehicle return. Interislander: Park in the designated Ace car parks near the Tourist Information Centre. If full, park in the public parking near the ferry terminal and advise us. Please drop your keys off at the Ace office. If you arrive after hours, deposit the keys only (no paperwork) in the drop box in the door. Bluebridge: Park in the public car parks at the Bluebridge terminal and leave the car keys at the Bluebridge check in desk.

Driver's License Requirements

The main driver and any additional drivers will need to provide a physical full driving license in their name with no major endorsements. The license should be held for at least 1 year(s).

Ferry Transportation: Not Allowed

ACE Rental Cars does not allow to bring the rental vehicle to ferry. You will drop off your car at one port and collect another after crossing to the other island. A minimum of 3 days consecutive rental required in each island (If the minimum length of rental requirement is not met, then the rental will be charged as two separate hires.).

The lady who helped me with the paperwork was very enthusiastic and serious, but the car wasn’t clean when it was handed over to me. The windows were covered in grease marks and the floor had footprints. Since we picked up the car at night and were in a hurry, we didn’t make a big deal about it. We cleaned it ourselves the next morning.
