Argentina
Customers who need to cross the border with Argentina must send their request to permitinternacional@econorent.cl, 15 days in advance of renting the vehicle, attaching a copy of their passport or identity card and valid driver's license, clearly indicating the reservation number to which the documents belong. The International Permit will be delivered when the client picks up the vehicle at our offices. Argentine citizens can cross the border with the rental vehicle, provided they have permanent residence in Chile. International Permit Cost. From 5 to 15 days: $99,000 + VAT (reference in USD$112.00 + VAT) From 16 to 30 days: $179,000 + VAT (reference in USD$202.00 + VAT) Permit must be pre-paid by credit card. The basic coverage included in the rental, once the border is crossed, leaves the automobile exempt from protection against robbery or theft. Therefore, if affected by this type of accident, the main driver must assume the corresponding costs.

    Terrible car rental service. Due to a flight delay, I contacted the rental platform 4 hours in advance to delay the car pickup. When I arrived at Kamala Airport around 2:30 PM, the place was deserted. Other car rental companies had staff, but this one was completely empty. The posted contact number went unanswered, and I had to keep contacting the platform. The platform informed me that they had been unable to reach the rental company for the past 4 hours. After a long flight of more than ten hours, I had to wait at the car rental counter for over 2 hours and still didn't get the car. To make matters worse, the rental company and the platform delayed the refund process endlessly. This is beyond terrible.
