Pick-up Instructions

The BARGAIN - Launceston Airport car hire location is located out of the airport

Once you have collected your luggage, call +61 3 6165 0838 and follow the prompts for shuttle bus pick up. Please allow up to 20 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. T1 PASSENGER TERMINAL - Exit the arrivals hall and turn right, walk towards the end of the main terminal building and wait outside the check-in/departure entrance for the shuttle bus collection. T2 SHARP AIRLINES - Exit the Sharp Airlines terminal and turn left, walk towards the end of the T1 terminal building and wait outside the check-in/departure entrance for the shuttle bus collection.

Drop-off Instructions

Return the vehcile to our depot at 190 Evandale Road, Western Junction and you will be shuttled back to the airport.

Driver's License Requirements

The main driver and any additional drivers will need to provide a physical full driving license in their name with no major endorsements. The license should be held for at least 1 year(s).

For foreign renters, you need to bring:

Original driving licence + International Driving Permit (IDP)

Please note that an International Driving Permit (IDP) is only a translation. You must present your original driving licence together with the original IDP at the counter — photocopies or scanned copies are not accepted.

Original South Korea Driving License (English version)

An English translation must be provided on the back of the driver's license.

Original driving licence + NAATI Translation

The translation of the driver's license certified by the Australian Translation and Accreditation Institute (NAATI) can be used to rent a car and drive in Australia.

Learner drivers and provisional and probationary licence holders are not acceptable and must not drive the Vehicle. If you are holding a local driver's license and a first time renter with BARGAIN, you are required to provide a valid debit card or credit card linked to an address, as well as at least two address proof.

    Like: Great staff.
    Dislike: I found the wiper blades were worn out and whatever the car is washed with remains on the windscreen, making very difficult to see out of in wet conditions. Also I felt the tyres were over inflated, making the ride a little bumpy.

    My booking was for a Mitsubishi Outlander (OR SIMILAR). The car we received was a Nissan X Trail which is a smaller vehicle in comparison. Staff were friendly but because lacked additional staff for the busy weekend they were expecting for the football and ANZAC period. Also understand they take a $500 deposit for if the vehicle is damaged but if this isn't cancelled or return of the car then another process needs to be taken.
