The car was very new, only 5000 miles. The rental procedure was quick and simple, without excessive upselling of other products. We selected the car ourselves at the parking lot and the return process was also swift. The service was indeed excellent.

When renting the car, the counter staff suggested we buy their fuel, saying unused fuel could be refunded. Since we had an early flight, we thought it would be convenient. In the end, we had more than half a tank left, and they didn't refund us. There were many people in line, and we waited a long time. They didn't remind or explain the additional insurance content. It was completed on a machine in English. If you can't understand English or don't pay attention, you might end up agreeing to many extra charges.

For this self-driving trip in Hawaii, we rented cars from both Hertz and Alamo for comparison. Hertz was over 100 RMB more expensive per day, but the service was average, especially since there was only one car available and we couldn't choose. Each time, it took an hour of conversation to exchange cars, which felt somewhat intentional due to the language barrier. The only advantage was the lower number of people and the high frequency of shuttle buses.
