I chose a pickup location near the Old Town Square, but the actual location was far away and had nothing to do with the square. It would be better not to offer this option. I had to buy insurance at the store, and the cost was almost the same as the rental fee!
The car we got seemed to be brand new and it was nice.
The staff was very arrogant. They claimed the POS machine was broken and asked us to withdraw 800 euros in cash for the deposit. When returning the car, they didn't clearly explain which parking lot to use, causing us to spend over half an hour to find it.
Very good experience. Even though our English is not great, the staff at the store were very patient and the process was quick. The car was also nice. We rented a Peugeot minivan for 5 people, which could fit 4 large suitcases.
The location is fairly easy to find. If you come out of T1 at Prague Airport, it's the building directly opposite the main entrance. I booked a Golf but got a Yeti instead. The car was very new and overall pretty good. Due to driving to Austria and Hungary, they charged me a 42-euro border-crossing fee. This fee is my only concern as my friends who have previously driven in Europe never mentioned such a charge. I'm also wondering if this fee would apply if you didn't indicate your intention to drive to other countries when renting the car.
This is probably a local rental company in the Czech Republic, not very large but relatively well-managed. Both pick-up and return processes were smooth.
Visited Czech Republic during the National Day holiday in October, booked a Ford Mondeo manual or a similar model, but was given a Peugeot 5008. Everything was satisfactory until returning the car. Since it was my first time renting, I was a bit careless. During the return, I checked the car with the staff but didn't take photos. To my surprise, by the end of February, I saw an additional charge of nearly 1500 RMB. I contacted the rental company and received a photo showing severe scratches on the rear bumper, which were obvious like children's graffiti on a wall. I asked the company why such obvious damage was discovered so late and why they charged me. They just apologized for the late discovery and insisted it was our fault. Very dissatisfied, I will never rent from this company again.
1. Even without prepayment, there were no issues picking up the car.
2. The car was reliable, it had about 15,000 km on it, and there were no problems during my 2,400 km trip over ten days.
3. I accidentally scratched the car lightly, but since I had insurance, the return process went smoothly, and I haven't heard anything about it since.
The staff's attitude was quite rigid. The car rental company is actually located in the same building as other companies. Due to a delayed flight, I arrived just as they were about to close. I called to ask if I could still pick up the car, and they said yes, but didn't mention any extra charges if I arrived after closing time, nor did they suggest that it might be better to come the next day during regular hours. I finally found the rental counter, but it was two minutes past closing and they charged me an extra 36 euros.
We wasted nearly an hour returning the car at the German airport, almost causing us to miss our flight. Other rental companies were very friendly; you could just leave the car and go. However, one staff member from this company ignored us, saying the car came from the Czech Republic and he wasn't responsible. We asked him who to approach, and he kept saying it wasn't his problem with a very bad attitude. We had to queue at the front desk, and they told us to park the car in the parking lot and inform a staff member. We mentioned that no one paid attention to us. Finally, another rental company staff helped us resolve the issue.
I found the store using Google Maps. The store is small, and the staff is polite. There were no other customers. A single credit card wasn't enough for the deposit, which was calculated in US dollars. I had to pay the rental fee upfront in euros, making the rental cost higher than the booking price due to current exchange rates. The return process was quick; after checking the car, I was free to go. No paperwork was issued. The car was in good condition and relatively new.
