There was no one at the desk when I arrived the la Paz airport. So I had to call the europcar. Someone showed up ASAP but she didn’t speak much English and didn’t give me enough information about walking Sunday event that you can’t drive main streets everywhere in La Paz. I had to use the back streets but the car was full of dust from driving dusty roads. The euro staff tells me to clean the car when you return but if the situation like that, it wasn’t my fault. Also it used to be unlimited mileage but they limited mileage these days. They charge a lot for poor service.
I waited a long time for the staff to arrive, and communication in English was difficult. They also charged an extra $19 fee when returning the car, which is unreasonable.
The ordered car full-size for 11 persons was not aviable, The ofered car without prior message was the track for 4 persons. We where 6 persons so we have had to wait pprox 8 hours for an other car at the aeroport.
The staff tried to do something but had not any reserve cars so without success.
The cross bording procedure is in Bolivia unbeliveble complicated.
The representant of the staff has to guidet us to the border.
First of all that the counter staff wanted to charge me some extra money for "online booking fee" that was not informed at the terms/booking confirmation.
The car has a speed limit alarm when reaching 80 km/hr, and it had kept on sounding the alarm all the time when I was on the road, which made me have a really bad time experience, since the speed limit on road is 110km/hr.
My flight was rescheduled, so I called at the car's drop off location in order to confirm the working hours, and the staff informed they open always at 6am.
I arrived there at 5:45am and waited until 7:00am and no one showed to open the location. There was no instruction how to proceed in this case, and I almost missed my flight because I did not wanted to have problems with the car, since there was a value blocked in my credit card. After waiting there for so long, and afraid to miss the flight, I contacted the cell phone that was informed at the office glass, so Rodrigo, really nice guy, instructed me to leave the car key at a box outside the office.
I am very thankfull for his atention, but I believe it is not professional, once the office does not comply the informed working hours, and even there was not instructions there to proceed in this case...
So I really had a bad time renting this car.
