Waited 3 hours to get car, staff on desk were useless just saying it takes what it takes. Will never use again.
The drop off was also terrible, staff ignoring me, badly signposted to return the car - whole pickup and dropoff process terrible.
Counter staff tried to pressure me to buy additional insurance which I had already purchased in the uk. I was also told that if the car broke down or I was involved in an accident there was no breakdown or recovery included in the rental. In her words ‘ you are on your own’. The car had a lot of dents and scratches and the interior was dirty. The woman in the pick up cabin was not interested in helping me to identify all of the damage on the car bodywork when I collect the car.

Car was fine, but staff tried to overcharge on collection and were extremely unhelpful on return refusing to simply sign a note saying all ok having inspected vehicle and agreeing that there was no damage
Waited over an hour, in a hot terminal, to pick up car. Staff said I needed extra insurance !! This was paid for up front, and they should have been made aware. Overall cost was £20 higher than original quote. On the plus side, car was upgraded to a new seat arona.

We arrived on time to pick up our rental car only to be met by a sea of people waiting to collect their cars . Firstly, there were only 4 staff working and they each took around 20mîns if not more to serve each customer! No sense of trying to speed up to help with the ever growing queues! Once we had waited for 2 hours and 20 mins (!!!) we finally had our number called . We were then met by an incredibly slow, unapologetic and borderline agressive member of staff. When we asked for an explanation for the long wait and utter chaos, we were given no apology ( as the representative of ACE should have done in basic customer service ) and just an aggressive and rude attitude whilst we tried to collect our car.
In the many years of travel and use of car hire companies at Bordeaux Meringnac airport I have never been treated so incredibly badly nor had to wait so long with no apology or basic customer service. I will never use this company again and will be sure to pass the word on amoung my contact , friends , family and anyone else who I know is looking for car rental .
The car was very beat up and the guy handing over the keys said he didnt cxare what state it was brought back in. The car stunk of spilt alcohol and there was a hole in the front divers carpet. It drove okay although there was no radio reception. Later found that the aerial had been broken off. Next day with my wheels turned outwards I realised the two front tyres were badly worn and probably illegal. I looked in the boot for the spare, but there was none. I could not find any details on the booking paperwork for a number to phone. Very disappointed, the rental was not cheap but I was given a third rate /unroad worthy car
