We booked a mid-size luxury SUV, a Mercedes GLC, but we got a Hyundai Tucson instead. They told us it was the same class. How is Hyundai considered luxury? How are they in the same class? This is simply deceiving the customer!! It significantly, significantly, significantly affected the mood of our trip. It was terrible. We reported this to the customer service of the car rental platform. Their attitude was good, but there was no practical solution. They just said that the Czech car rental company insisted it was the same class, and there was nothing they could do. This was my first time using this rental platform, and I am very disappointed.
The check in was great but to find the car, it was very difficult as no one is showing you the way or which car you rented. For the vehicle in itself it was clean and was the car that I booked. However, it was missing few essentials for a car during winter: no window liquid was put in the car and we had difficulties to drive at some point as we had dirty snow. We had to stop and buy ourselves the product, and of course Budget did not care and is not ready to d anything about it. Second, there was no utensil to take of the frozen snow out of the windows, which is mandatory in a country where it is snowing a lot during winter. When we checked out, the guy that reviewed everything was super rude and did not care, asking us to contact directly the company.
Dislike: Despite the fact that the order was intentionally placed in a Prague Railway station, in Budget system it shows Prague Airport. I've got the car at the Railway station, as the stuff member was a kind person and gave me the car. You guys (Easyrentcars) should update your system accordingly.
My first experience was average: 1. We booked a 7-seater automatic, but were given a 5-seater. Although they explained that the 5-seater was in better condition and more expensive, the rental agency simply didn't have a 7-seater automatic. 2. There were very few staff members. After renting the car, there was no one to guide us to it, and it was not where they said it would be. We searched for ages across three levels. It felt unorganized. 3. After finding the car, there was still luggage from the previous renter inside. 4. The staff were very impatient when explaining things, eventually ignoring us completely. 5. At the rental, we were told to use 95-octane gasoline, but luckily we checked and realized the car required diesel (thankfully we asked multiple times). It was nerve-wracking initially, worrying if we were wrong. 6. The return process was relatively convenient; filling up the tank was straightforward with no extra hassle.
Rented a brand new Škoda Fabia for ¥130 per day. The one-piece ignition switch, driving, brake, and seat cushion were all very comfortable. Driving 150 kilometers on the highway was very stable. I think it was very cost-effective.
Staff behind the collection desk spoke perfect English, understood my requirements and did not try to pressurise me into buying any 'add ons' I did not need. There was a short delay on pick up as they where busy and we had to wait for the car to be washed. One thing to note was that the service warning came on half way through our hire.
They charged a 1400 CZK parking fee at pick-up, starting from three days before the pick-up date. Now, the rental company doesn’t acknowledge this fee, claiming there was a free parking card in the car. First, the staff never mentioned this when we picked up the car; second, there was only a paid parking card in the car.
Very good, the staff at the rental company were very friendly. I had never driven a car that required pressing the brake to start the engine, so I struggled for a bit. In the end, I had to call the staff up to the parking lot to help me.
Like: I liked that it was possible to get a great last minute deal within my budget. The reservation desk guy was helpful and friendly. We got the car as scheduled with no delays or waiting. Dislike: We booked VW golf class and got a Seat (not sure which make). It was kind of a nice upgrade. However, this car has very uncomfortable front seats. It has nothing to do with Budget, just a thing to keep in mind.
