Driver's License in South Korea
To drive or rent a car in South Korea, the driver must be in possession of a valid driver's license and an International Driving Permit (IDP) issued in a country of the 1949 Geneva or 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. Other countries are not accepted. Driving permit issued in China, Indonesia and Taiwan are not allowed for rentals in South Korea. The license should be a full licence held for a minimum of 1 or 2 years (according to different car hire company) with no major endorsements.
