Pick-up Instructions

The MEX - Mexico City - Airport - Mex car hire location is located out of the airport

After collecting your luggage, please proceed to our Mex Rent-A-Car booth. Please approach the nearest contact point: If you land on Terminal 1 from an International flight please approach Gate 8. If you land on Terminal 1 from a Domestic flight please proceed to the car rental area. If you land on Terminal 2 from a Domestic or International flight please proceed to the car rental area close to Gate 4. If you arrive between 2:00am and 6:00am please proceed to our 24 hour contact point at Terminal 1 Gate 8. An uniformed Mex Rent-A-Car agent will arrange the shuttle to pick you up and drive you to our main office to collect your vehicle. Mex Rent-A-Car shuttles are blue with the Mex Rent-A-Car logo.

Age requirements

Young Driver Fee applies at 18 - 24 years old with charge of USD 13.57 per day approximately.

Driver's License Requirements

The main driver and any additional drivers will need to provide a physical full driving license in their name with no major endorsements. The license should be held for at least 1 year(s).

For foreign renters, you need to bring:

Please note that an International Driving Permit (IDP) is only a translation. You must present your original driving licence together with the original IDP at the counter — photocopies or scanned copies are not accepted.

Low English proficiency. Too much deposit, over 1000 USD. The car became smaller but still acceptable. No need for additional documents or translations.

It's very difficult to get through to MEX on the phone. Except for the airport branch staff, the parking lot attendants don't understand English at all. The pickup location is a bit far from the terminal parking lot, make sure to mark it on Google Maps after the shuttle drops you off, or you won't remember where to return the car. The car was just returned and given to another foreign customer without cleaning. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing that they don't check carefully.
