Driver's License Requirements

The main driver and any additional drivers will need to provide a physical full driving license in their name with no major endorsements. The license should be held for at least 1-2 year(s).

Rental cars can only be driven on sealed/bitumen or well maintained roads. Vehicles are not to be taken above the snow line. Not allow to drive between mainland Australia and Tasmania in either direction or into or out of the Northern Territory or Western Australia; Excluded from the protection is on the ferry or driving on beaches or through streams, dams, rivers or flood water. The pickup location is not at the airport, you need to call the store. The first time I called, no one answered, but they picked up quickly the second time. Since I opted for insurance, there was no additional fuss. I booked a Mazda CX-5, but got a Mitsubishi Outlander with just over 5000 kilometers, which was pretty good.
