You can walk to the counter of Dollar - Honolulu International Airport car hire.

On airport rental car offices are located on the 2nd level of the Terminal 2. Car rental shuttles stop in designated areas along the center median on the ground level outside of baggage claim areas. For Hawaiian Airlines and commuter terminals, proceed outside the baggage claim to the curb marked rental car for the consolidated rental car shuttle bus. All other arrivals should proceed to the cross walk between baggage claim E and F, cross the street to the rental car center on the 2nd level. Reference the blue rental car center signs located on pillars outside baggage claim area.

Drop-off Instructions

However, the sales pitch was quite frequent—they recommended upgrading to an SUV and offered various types of insurance like lost keys and traffic ticket coverage, which seemed odd. I booked a Mazda 3 or a similar class, but ended up with a Kia Forte. The car's condition was decent and had no issues.
