It is recommended to have PERS coverage when using vehicle in cross border rentals for the US and Canada. The renter must have a valid driver's license and rental record to cross the border into Canada. Canadian law does require that everyone entering the country have a passport, so everyone in the vehicle must have the proper identification. This isn't the first time I've used this rental company, and I've always been quite satisfied. The cars are relatively new, and the paperwork process is quick. However, this time picking up the car at LGA airport, the African American female service agent took a lot of time and couldn't get it done. She kept asking about the driver's license address. Eventually, a manager came out and resolved everything in ten seconds. Returning the car at JFK airport was very efficient, took less than a minute.
