Budget Car hire with Van

THe car was ideal for our requirements, and the staff we met were great.

The person on the desk Didn't explain charges. wasn't till we got home we realised how much we were charged for extras . We only asked for collision damage waver. Didn't explain all other charges.

Professional

Car was lovely small queue at the desk dealt with professionally and quickly with no pressure to take any extras but had to wait for half an hour to get the keys as cars were still being valeted whilst you were waiting a little bit frustrated by this as after a long flight we just wanted to get to the hotel

The car I got was good and with the winter tyres I specifically wanted. I even got tyre socks too.

Car experience was very poor as mentioned car booked was not available When questioned why ? As had pre booked 3 months in advance I was told nothing they could do ? Did not care at tall attitude Car provided was filthy inside & out Tyre pressure warning light was on Had to stop and re inflated tyres Wash front & back windows to actually see out ! Will not use Budget again Dreadful service

Not very friendly or communicative. Overcharged me for damage. The rest was more or less fine.

Make sure you take plenty of pictures even if the damage seems very superficial . Pay by particular attention to any small chips on windscreen

I did the pre-check and downloaded the Budget app as they said it would save time. When we got to the rental area we had to queue for almost 2 hours. They 'upgraded' the car and then subsequently tried to charge extra. The counter operative was watching baseball on his phone while trying to serve me.

We asked for a SunPass but the charges werent explained to us and we found the daily admin charge for this quite high.

Staff member in the office said he would speak to his manager about offering us compensation for the inconvenience . However, no further communication from them was had.

Mostly great. However, they parked cars in the exit of the pickup area, so it was very difficult to pick up the car. We had to find someone to help. Unfortunately, they were unable to remove the blocking vehicles, but they were able to remove a vehicle on the far side which allowed us (with some difficulty) to leave.

Budget are pretty good I buy insurance etc through QEEQ which is first class, be aware that budget like to upsell Also pay by plate for toll’s on the Illinois web site, it doesn’t always work and budget will take payment from your card but it’s not that expensive if they do Remember to take photographs of mileage and fuel level on collection and drop off !!

When I arrived they tried to put my into a mini van claiming that was the only vehicle they had. After reading similar reviews I told them that the van was not acceptable, that I had paid for a SUV and that was the vehicle I wanted. Miraculous that they were able to find a SUV parked next to the other 11 SUVs on their lot!

It took more than 2 hours for my car to be ready. No notification beforehand that I would have a delay. When I tried to adjust the pick-up/drop-off time, the responsibility was put back on me to amend and reverse the additional charge.

Budget didn't have any compacts, only large SUVs and sports a 2 door convertible. This was what was offered, so managed to make it work with two large suitcases. If you where really wanting a compact (size or extra seats) this wouldn't have worked for you

The car was very good. pick up time was slow to to queues. the service staff were not friendly when we told them we didnt require any upgrades or extras. Budget provide additional spouse driver free of charge which is very good.

Booked car was not available. Replacement was an ‘upgrade’ but was suitable. Long wait times to pick up seemed common.

I had to pay to take the car back full even though it was only three quarters full when I collected it. Otherwise, all fine.

After returning a car the Budget company immediately charged us for additional 137,69 USD for "optional services", which were not ordered. Budget did that without any clarification. We had no accidents, no police problems, no road tolls. the worst is that we asked for a clarification, but the Budget refused to do it!

We found budget staff great. They didn't try to upsell us. When we dropped off car we had a crack in side door window due to following a gritting lorry. The staff made no fuss and seemed more concerned about our welfare.

Was a great car (except for the windscreen wipers)! They were extremely helpful in providing suggestions for alternative drop off at airport which made my travel plans much more convenient.

Budget are always graet

Pickup was a disaster. There was a huge line, and only two guys working. They took forever to check out each customer, and stopped between each customer to talk over the radios. Something was obviously wrong, but there was zero communication to the huge line of waiting customers. It was almost midnight and lots of lucky customers that hadn’t prepaid left the line and went to a different rental agency. To add salt to the wound, the Avis line, right beside us was moving three or four times faster. I won’t be using Budget again.

Hello, Very bad experience with Budjet Serbia! While getting the car they obligated me to pay extra charge of 30Euro for that they called extra hours open office. We got the car around 23.00 while their office is open 24/7 and nothing like this condition not appeared in our contract. After returning the car Budget send us invoice with charging additional 12Euro tax. After writing to the their service for clarification this, they explained this additional charge for returning the car without washing it! We absolutely cleaned inside the car and also the local guy got the car without any notes or claims but washing outside it’s looks like unacceptable demand! I wrote mail to their local costumer service and got very disappointed answer that all described above is like costumer duty. I was shocked from service like this from big company like Budget. I expect help from QEEQ to solve these issues and get a refund 42Euro (30+12) that knowing before renting these unexpected charges, could change my decision to book the car via QEEQ. Staff were helpful. It was not clear that car hire was not based at the airport and the directions for the bus were not accurate so we wandered around the airport searching for a while and then had a 20 min wait for a bus. Unsure if this is a QEEQ or Budget issue.

Helpful staff in Austin. In San Antonio no receipt was emailed to me and also I was not told I was being charged for 2 extra hours. There was some time confusion. Other than that, good.

Car was fine but had a dent in the side which was not mentioned on collection. No go round the car. Very long queue for collection - not what you need after a day of travelling. Staff were helpful and efficient but very understaffed- thus the long delay and limited hand over.

Car drivable but had faults (cruise control and collision warning inoperative and warning lights on). Were not advised of existing damage to bodywork. Car had 90,000 on clock so not a new vehicle. Counter staff and return staff very pleasant and efficient.

Be aware that the car/option you may have selected isn’t always going to be the car you get. In fairness it states “similar” in the advert but had hoped my car choice would have been available.

The Budget staff at both pick up and drop off were rude, unhelpful and really did not seem to even want to be there . Just terrible service

After reading the Budget reviews, I was a bit concerned. I have to say on arrival it was a very pleasant experience with helpful and friendly staff. The car was what we expected in size and fitted our luggage perfectly. I would definitely recommend and will be using again.
