Renting and returning the car at Salzburg Airport was very smooth. When returning, the staff just asked a few questions and didn't even inspect the car, showing great trust in customers. Highly recommend!
They overcharged and were very rude. They didn't even provide a breakdown of the charges, just said that's the price, take it or leave it! Infuriating.
The service was very poor. Despite agreeing on no additional insurance, they added it. They also forced an upgrade on the vehicle, claiming that my reserved model was unavailable. This resulted in an extra expense of over 200 euros.
Overall, I am satisfied with the service. However, the provided GPS had no sound, and the volume adjustment did not work. Additionally, the car given to me had a minor accident with some damage at the back, but the rental company informed me in advance.
Rented a car on short notice. While the service lacked some flexibility, it was overall acceptable and quite standard. Everything went smoothly and quickly.
The staff did not accompany me to pick up the car. I had to search for a long time in the parking lot and couldn't inspect the car. They gave me a car with scratches. Let's see how much they end up charging me!
Pros:
1. The car pickup process was simple and quick, just needed to show a Chinese driver's license, a translated copy from Zuzuche, and a credit card.
2. Self-service car pickup from the underground garage.
Cons:
1. The car had noticeable scratches which the staff did not inform me about; I only discovered them the next day under sunlight. Upon comparing with the car pickup video, it was clear they were 'old damage'. After calling them, they told me to check the markings in the form myself.
2. Few parking spots for Europcar at Vienna train station garage, had to park in the last available spot.
Tip: Get full insurance to reduce worries during your trip!
Overall a good experience! Austria is really suitable for self-driving! Rented a car in Salzburg, visited Innsbruck and the lake district, and returned the car in Vienna! Picked up the car at Salzburg airport around 4 PM, no queues, I was the only one! Got the car in 20 minutes! No upselling of insurance or roadside assistance, no gimmicks! They just handed me the keys, and I went to the parking lot via the elevator next to the counter to get the car myself! The car had a full tank! No one accompanied me to check the car! I inspected it, found no issues, and drove off!
