Considering the issues with vehicle inspection and voice guidance, I arrived early at the pick-up store, but it was closed. I reported this to the rental car service, and they said they would contact the car rental company and get back to me. Eventually, they said they couldn’t reach the company and asked me to wait nearby. I waited until around 3:50 PM (pickup was scheduled for 4 PM), but no one showed up. It was too hot, and my child couldn’t wait any longer, so we returned to the hotel, which was fortunately nearby. At the hotel, the rental car service contacted me again, insisting I go back to the store to avoid missing the opening time. I found it odd since they should be prepared in advance for my booking. After settling my child, I returned to the store, and this time it was open. However, I was told there were no cars available and I had to wait until 6 PM. They also showed me records of attempts to contact my domestic phone number, which was puzzling since I was in Malaysia. Suddenly, a car became available, so I signed the paperwork and went for the vehicle inspection. The staff only checked the exterior, noted some damage points, recorded the mileage and fuel level, and left while I was taking photos and videos. I had to figure out how to open the trunk and refuel by calling them later. By the time I left, it was already past 5 PM, but the recorded pickup time was still 4 PM. The car's performance was also poor; the steering was shaky. When returning the car, they mentioned it was dirty inside. I suspected they might charge me a cleaning fee, but I explained that the sand in the car wasn’t from me as I hadn’t been to the beach. They accepted my explanation, and the return was processed normally.
Pickup and drop-off were very easy.
I chose the oldest and lowest-tier car, but if I had another chance, I wouldn't choose the oldest car again. It had high fuel consumption, loud noise, poor driving experience, no rearview camera, limited side mirror visibility, no in-car charging, and no phone mount.
Having a phone mount is crucial to avoid accidents, and charging is also important to prevent anxiety.
Firstly, it's very difficult to find the pickup location on the 1st floor, and the drop-off is on the 10th floor. Moreover, the promised 30-60 days deposit refund took much longer. I had to contact the rental car customer service to get it back, and I was told it would take 7-14 days after 10 days of continuous follow-up. Ultimately, it seems the deposit refund might take up to 90 days. This car rental company is completely unreliable. Terrible service. As of now, I still haven't received the deposit back since I returned the car on August 14th.
“Horrible with Paradise Rent a car Kuala Lumpur. Cars in terrible banged up condition inside and out.”
About PARADISE:3.7/10
My experience was horrible and will never use paradise again therefore won't be using easyrentcars as they recommended them. We spent over an hour waiting for the staff to show up to which the security guard in the end had to do the paperwork via the phone to his boss after waiting well over an hour. The vehicle was in poor condition and filthy from the previous users both in and out, the security replied that they don't wash the cars on the weekend it's not their job. Seems like their was no one there to do any of the admin or cleaning except the poor security guard.
Within an hour of our trip our tyre blew on the motorway on our way up to penang, rang the paradise rent helpline, who basically said for us to sort it out ourselves, luckily we rang the malaysian motorway patrol called Ronda who were fantastic in helping us, Paradise were not interested at all in helping us get their car fixed. We limped to the nearest exit and found a tyre shop and changed the tyre at our expense, which was later reimbursed at penang paradise who were much more helpful then their KL franchise.
Was a terrible start to our trip with a careless company, minor things like tyres and cleanliness is sometimes expected but with their attitude it did not help us, after all they were more than happy to collect the rental for a week.
