CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON ALAMO AT GENEVA AIRPORT（SWISS SIDE）, GVA

Picked up two brand new Benz Vito cars from the airport with friends, no issues at all. The paperwork and car pickup process were quick, and there's a shuttle from the counter to the parking lot every 10 minutes. The pickup and return procedures were explained in detail, and no language issues as everything was communicated in English. Upon returning the car, there were some scratches on the rims and we were informed there would be compensation. They said the damage department would assess and deduct the cost from the credit card used for the reservation, and send the detailed bill to the provided email. It took about 7 business days to receive the charge information, which was split into two transactions. However, even after returning to my home country, I hadn't received the detailed email from the rental company and had to request it myself. This was a bit unsatisfactory.

The car we got was an ordinary Jeep, not the model we originally booked! No explanation was provided unless asked. They just said the booked model was unavailable.

Longest queues at Geneva airport. Car seat straps all tangled and staff couldn’t help for ‘safety reasons’. Took over 30 mins just to sort that out All car hire is in a busy multi storey car park with no space and no toilets

I explained I'd booked a manual car and they said unfortunately they only had automatics....i was offered a 'mini' manual but that would have been to small!!

Like: Great service and great car (Audi A4)

The queue at arrival/pick-up was almost an hour because the Alamo desk only had one member of staff on it. We agreed to an upgrade but were only told about the net cost. We were not advised of the taxes and additional charges.

Everything was satisfactory except the extremely slow claims process, it took almost 3 months!

Dislike: If there are a private shuttle from the office to the terminal it will be better specially for big family the had to much luggage and kids even if you provide it with price or charge it will be easier rather than return the car and move all the luggages to bus point and wait the the same idea again on the bus to the terminal

We got a free upgrade to a brand-new JEEP with only 11 kilometers on it.

The Europeans are generally quite friendly, and Switzerland, being a country with a well-developed service industry, had good reception.

Like: The car given was good.
Dislike: My plane had reached early in Geneva. Therefore I went to ask if we could pick up the car earlier. Actual time on rental 1500hrs. I touched down at 1230hrs and went to the counter to ask if I could get a car at 1300hrs. The first counter staff told me No and told me to come back 1500hrs. So me and my family went to walk around the airport. My father is 72 and my mother is 70. We were tired from long travel and hungry. I tried returning to the counter about 1330hrs and this time was a different staff, Fatimah. She said she was Moroccan. She said we are in luck and said there is a car available at 1400hrs! My only complaint is of the first staff who immediately told me NO and did not bother to help or check. I think some of these should be corrected.

Like: Quick staff at the vehicle pickup area.
Dislike: Had to wait a while before being served to pickup - but...I got an upgrade to a VW people carrier.
