Picked up the car on October 1st, but received a car whose inspection expired in September. Got stopped by the police halfway for a prolonged check because it was illegally on the road. They were lenient enough not to impound the car immediately and allowed us to drive to an AVIS location an hour away to swap the car. Such a mistake is simply unprofessional.
The cost of returning the car is very unpredictable. There are hidden charges. I expected the rental to be 97, but ended up having to pay an extra 120 for three-quarters of a tank of fuel. Absolutely ridiculous.
The car had multiple issues, the staff were rude, and one employee in Jersey verbally abused and tried to assault a customer. A complaint has been filed, and we reserve the right to pursue further actions.
They didn't have the car we reserved so opted for an even better vehicle. Too large so we exchanged it the next day, no problem.
Staff at both locations were friendly and easy to work with. No high pressure extra sales.
