“dreadful, misleading & costly. Forced to buy insurance at counter £25per day, car was a disgrace”
About Easirent:3.0/10
Told by counter staff that my prepurchased excess insurance was null and void, Forced to buy insurance over the counter with Aaron stating that I would be liable for a £40k car, and any damage that was not reporterldnto the police and had a report... the insurance doubled the overall rental cost.
Next, when being shown to the car assigned, it was not roadworthy, engine warning light & oil service and inspection light were showing on dash. Car was filthy both inside and out, not prepared or ready for collection in any way shape or form, so given all the warnings that Aaron had highlighted to me I point blank refused to accept this car. I was then offered a lesser model at a discount of 95pence! This car was 1500 miles away from needing a full service, it had not been cleaned, the staff member (Aaron) did try to sort this out, hoovering the inside and topping up the wiper reservoir with water (even though the conditions were sub zero temperature!) he also topped up the oil. The collection took over 1.5 hours and I left feeling angry, ripped off and not at all satusfied with my experience. It also caused me to be late picking up my guests from the airport. I’m not at all happy with any aspect of the rental from arrival at easirent to return of vehicle to them.
After flying over 9,000 kilometers and taking a two and a half hour bus ride, our group of six finally arrived at the Northern Ireland branch, only to be told there were no cars available without any prior notice.
Online booking stated there would be no need to purchase insurance, but counter staff insisted it was only possible to insure through them, costing £40 a day.
The service was fine. The car was electric/ petrol.. and the fumes that came from the car was terrible.. causing both myself and my friend headache and very sort eyes. Had to drive with both windows slightly down, even thro it was raining. Mention this when returned the car and was told they couldn’t do anything about it. All I was told that it was being returned the next day..
Terrible service. My flight was delayed by an hour and they canceled my fully paid reservation without a reason, and refused to give a refund afterward. It seems like blatant robbery of the rental fee!
The service was very poor, the staff had a bad temper and lacked a service mindset. The car wouldn't start the second day, and when we contacted the rental company, they initially said they'd call back in five minutes. Later, they said someone was on the way, but 40 minutes later, they just gave us a phone number. We had plans that day, so we anxiously questioned why they didn't come earlier. The staff member hung up on us twice, ignoring our situation! In the end, we managed to reach out politely and were given a contact for the car manufacturer's diagnostic service, who promptly identified the problem. However, our plans were delayed by five hours, and we only managed to visit one place! We were supposed to catch a flight to Belfast! When returning the car, the store's roll-up door was shut. We knocked and got no response, so we called customer service. Shortly after, the door opened, and the staff member yelled at us, implying we shouldn't have called the company and that we were causing trouble on purpose because there was a doorbell. I had to apologize and explain that I didn't see the doorbell and even offered to call the company to clarify the situation, which eventually calmed him down. Overall, I've never encountered such rude staff! Terrible experience!
I am in the process of writing an official review of my experiences of renting a car from a range of rental companies in and around Belfast International Airport.
A brief overview on renting a car from Easirent was that it was a difficult process, with little help or trust from staff and minimal customer service. From time of arrival to driving away the car took 2 hours and 15 mins. During my time having the Easirent car, I never felt comfortable having your car during the rental period for several reasons.
All in all, the overall rating of rental was poor.
