Automatic car not available despite having paid for an automatic. Were forced to take a manual car - fortunately I have a Manual Lhcence. No discount offered for inconvenience. Very disappointing. Meant my wife was not able to share the driving load with me.
The car we were given did have a several marks on it which had been registered already. Also it flashed up on the screen that the car was due a service and oil change!

Counter service went above and beyond, however; we were given a car we did not reserve because there was a miscommunication between the booking site and Europcar. Response from Europcar when asked about the refund:
I understand that the vehicle was returned early due to an issue that was caused by a charging problem resulting from the phone's inability to connect to the charger. Please be advised that as per section 11.1.4 of the Terms and Conditions of hire, if you return the vehicle before the return date and time stated on the rental agreement, then we agree that the hire period will end when you return the vehicle to the Europcar branch and hand the vehicle keys to a Europcar agent. Please note, however, that the rental charges will remain the same (i.e. as if you had not returned the vehicle to us before the return date and time stated on the rental agreement), as we will not refund any unused daily rental or accessory charges to you. I must respectfully advise that we will be unable to process a refund of the remainder of the unused rental days.
Still waiting for a response from our email in response to Europcar:
I just want to reiterate some of our concern and hopefully we can come to an understanding about how we will require a refund of the car.
Firstly we were not having a problem connecting to the charger stations by phone. We were able to connect to multiple slow charging stations, but a full charge would have taken up to 8 hours. We then tried to find fast charging stations, but the one on UEA campus required an RFID card, and one on a nearby golf course required a charger that did not fit in our cars charging port. We were not able to locate any other fast chargers in the area because the MG4 was given to us with only 30% battery charge. With our limited mileage, we could not both find a usable fast charge, and also return to the Norwich airport if charging did not work…

Invoice also mentioned that Fuel was full tank but it was not the case. for 65 miles you expect fuel to be reduced to half? Also, what is exs charges? I have collected the car at 12 in the noon and returned at 5.15 PM, invoice shows 23.08 PM. Understanding the bill is very difficult. Total shows 90.50 but amount due is 139.50. How is it calculated? Additionally i have paid 54 pounds to Qeeq while booking the car. So for nearly 5 hrs of renting a car cost me 194 pounds?

I met Ollie and Jack at the Enterprise desk at Newquay Cornwall Airport. They have been the most friendliest staff I have come across at any car rental service. They not only assisted me in getting the car on-time but also suggested me places to visit on my staycation. Really appreciate the customer service and friendliness. Cheers to Ollie and Jack!
Collection took over 40 minutes, which I wasn't expecting. Includes a DVLA and credit check, again I wasn't expecting as it was a business booking. Car wasn't ready at the time I booked for (had to wait 20 minutes for another car to be cleaned). The car I was given was a Peugeot 2008 with 60k miles and loads of scratches/dents/interior stains, so it had seen better days. Another customer was complaining about their car at the same time, and the counter staff weren't very professional about it, and honestly I didn't have time to complain. Drop off was quick and smooth for me, but overall I wouldn't hire again from Europcar or this venue.
Everything went very well except longer than normal amount of time at pickup. Computers were being problematic but Alex was very helpful and made sure my troop went well.

First, the instruction to get the car from airport has no detail. I have to ask few people to get to the bus stop to the rental car (Heathrow airort terminal 2)
Second, the staff do not have the model I rented (Nissan Qashqai Automatic). He try to sell the larger car (Manual transmission which I can drive). But the upgrade price is much higher than I have to pay for the Nissan Qashqai, so I decide to get the similar car that I booked. So finally I got the Vauxhall Grand Land manual transmission. I feel sort of tricky that they do not have the model I booked the car and prrovide the lower car type (manual) to me.
I also talk to my friend about this, he also got the similar problem from Alamo that can not provide the model he book annd the staff try to sell the upgrade to other model.
Third, I did use the road side assistant due to flat tyre. The response is quick and professional.
I went to the car rental office after 1 hour of the appointment time. They let me wait almost an hour due to the car is just washing. They also don't have the model I booked (Mercedes-Benz Vito, 9 seats, automatic), so they offer the Renault traffic L2 minibus (9 seats, automatic and large space for the luggage)
The car was in perfect condition, the staff was very profesional and friendly, location was 5 mins close to the airport.

My preffered way to book rentals due to their prices, price drop protector (I have used it) and aslo the AXA insurance (comprehensive risk coverage, never used it, hope I never will)
they didn't accept Taiwan driving licence, but didn't mentioned during booking
after changed driver to complete booking, they requested to us to perchase new insurance

They were helpful because kayak had falsely advertised a big commercial truck but actually booked a tiny van and remarkably pretend that that's fine they are just generic images it's quite a scam they have running there.
