You can walk to the counter of AVIS - Nice Airport T2 car hire.

The car rental counter is located in the Terminal 2 Parking Garage. Terminal 1 Arrivals: Take the Car Rental Shuttle to Terminal 2. Terminal 2 Arrivals: Exit from gate 2 or gate 3, cross P5 and follow signs to the Car Rental Center. Proceed to our counter located on the ground floor.

Drop-off Instructions

Please proceed to Terminal 2, once at the airport area, pay attention to the "Car Rental Return" signs and enter through the car rental return car park entrance. When picking up the car, they told me the car I booked, a Mercedes C-Class, was not available. If I wanted a Mercedes, I had to upgrade and was told it would only cost 50 euros. But when I signed and checked the bill, it was actually 150 euros. The French way of doing business feels somewhat like back home; you feel cheated.
