Pick-up Instructions

The BARGAIN - Cairns Airport car hire location is located out of the airport

Once you have collected your luggage, call +61 3 6165 0838 and follow the prompts for shuttle bus pick up. Please allow up to 20 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. Domestic: Exit the terminal doors closest to the car rental counters. Turn left and walk past the taxi rank. After passing the taxi rank, you will see a footpath with a yellow and black line painted on it. Ensure both colours present on the footpath. Please follow the lines until you see the signage for “courtesy vehicle and rideshare pickup”. International arrivals: Exit the front of the terminal, turn right and walk until you see yellow and black lines on footpath, follow these lines until you reach the “courtesy vehicle and rideshare pickup” sign.

Drop-off Instructions

Please return to our depot at 410 Sheridan Street Cairns North. We will shuttle you back to the airport.

The main driver and any additional drivers will need to provide a physical full driving license in their name with no major endorsements. The license should be held for at least 1 year(s).

For foreign renters, you need to bring:

Please note that an International Driving Permit (IDP) is only a translation. You must present your original driving licence together with the original IDP at the counter — photocopies or scanned copies are not accepted.

Original South Korea Driving License (English version)

An English translation must be provided on the back of the driver's license.

Original driving licence + NAATI Translation

The translation of the driver's license certified by the Australian Translation and Accreditation Institute (NAATI) can be used to rent a car and drive in Australia.

Learner drivers and provisional and probationary licence holders are not acceptable and must not drive the Vehicle. If you are holding a local driver's license and a first time renter with BARGAIN, you are required to provide a valid debit card or credit card linked to an address, as well as at least two address proof.

    The entire process was smooth and trouble free. No issues at all, pick up was fast and friendly, with basically everything done online prior. The MG was clean and comfortable, just taking a little to get used to the indicators on the left and wipers on the right. There was plenty of space for both luggage and 2 passengers, including myself at 185cm and 115kg

    Great servi e once I arrived at the office. I found the instructions for pick up shuttle confusing and missed the first pick up bus making it a 45 minute wIt in total from the call to say I was ready for picking up at the airport. The staff at the office were helpful, polite, informative and efficient. I could even buy a phone charger for the car (it only lasted a day with the connector point falling apart). The staff took that purchase into account when I made the final payment which was nice! Will use Bargain again. Recommended.

    The counter staff were very pushy on insurance upsell. He tried to convince me that my travel insurance and CC insurance would not cover my excess. He then went on to tell me that if I was in an accident I would have to pay the daily rate while the car was off the road and my insurance would not cover it. I didn't believe so I called the call centre, and they confirmed this to be true. I won't be using them again for this reason. The other issue was that I could not inspect the car properly due to rain and there was no where under cover to park.
