Europcar Chile has updated its cross-border permit conditions as follows: 1.When picking up your car at the station, a hold of USD 2000 will be placed on your credit card. 2.An additional USD 750 will be blocked for the guarantee of your car. 3.Failure to return the car to Chile will result in a USD 2000 charge. 4.It is mandatory to purchase our *Premium insurance for the entire rental period at a cost of USD 32 per day. There were quite a few staff when we picked up the car at Punta Arenas airport, but none of them were professional. The process was very slow, despite the previous booking. After finishing the paperwork, we had to wait for another 15 minutes before the car arrived. The opposite was experienced during the drop-off. The guy was quick and efficient.

The physical condition of the car contained many small dents and scrapes but the interior was mint. Windshield and tires were in extremely good condition. The front counter staff were fun and set everything up swiftly and released the car with ease. I would rent using Europcar again without question.

Europcar charged me again after I finished using the car. Upon inquiry, I was told it was a system issue and they would process the refund on 2018/10/19. However, there has been no update and I have not received the refund. After submitting a second after-sales service request to Zuzuche, there was also no follow-up. I am very disappointed with this. I advise everyone to be extremely cautious when considering renting a car in South America.
