Like: Car was great condition. Staff were lovely.
Dislike: Hard to locate their service desk. Not until we called that we found out that their office isn't at the airport but a block away.

Dislike: Couldnt make the radio work. A little nervous that the car was already badly damaged. I wasnt sure they would be able to tell that I hadnt done any damage. The motor needs a service.

Like: The staff were super friendly and I’d like to compliment on Peter (OZ guy from Brisbane) who arranged for the pickup of the car on 4th May ‘18 and he was also the one to drop us off at the airport on 6th May ‘18. He was really polite, friendly and helpful. We were really satisfied by the overall experience in renting the car from EasyRentCars. I’ll defintely rent from there again!
Dislike: Wish the car was a slightly newer model but not a big deal.

Like: The people are friendly and helpful. I didn't get the promised photos of the car damages but as long as they weren't bothered, then I wasn't. But if there had been a problem with damage, this would have been a problem too. The car was very efficient on petrol. But the best thing was the staff. I left my house keys at the rental desk and the lovely woman from Ace drove to the airport to drop them off to me! Many thanks for that.
Dislike: The moment at the airport when I couldn't get through to them on their 0800 number and wondered if I was every going to get through to them. I kept being referred to Auckland and then talked to someone unhelpful there. Eventually I managed to talk to someone in Wellington and by the time we had collected our luggage the shuttle taking us to the rentals had arrived. So phew.

From the start, the staff were extremely rude. When we finally got the car, it turned out to be old and unsafe! We couldn't start the car for almost an hour at the rental lot. Staff were too busy to help us. We finally figured it out ourselves, blaming our ignorance of automatic cars and lack of English skills. One mechanic eventually took pity on us and jump-started the battery, claiming it was fine. We didn't realize how serious this battery issue was until we got stranded the next day in heavy rain, seeking help for over half a day. The police finally assisted us. We lost a whole day of our trip and my one-year-old got sick. The front left tire was also severely worn, making us worry about a blowout the entire journey. We returned to Auckland immediately. This rental company is incredibly irresponsible!

Upon arrival at the airport, I called the company for a pickup, which was charged at 25 NZD, while other companies provide it for free. This indicates that this is a small company. The vehicle had high mileage, and the insurance deductible was high, implying their insurance costs are low. I experienced a minor accident due to slippery roads and was charged a 5000 NZD repair prepayment. Note, this was not just a credit card authorization but an actual charge. This is unreasonable because you have to pay the credit card bill based on the charge. The final repair cost is still unknown. Although the excess was 3500 NZD, they charged 5000 NZD. This is outrageous. Overall, besides being cheap, this company offers no value. Rental platforms should review such companies to protect renters' rights.

Upon arrival at the airport, contacted the company by phone. They instructed us to wait at a specific location in the hall. In about 10 minutes, someone came with a sign to pick us up and took us to the car outside. We got to the rental point quickly, the car was new with low mileage and full insurance coverage. Staff were polite and professional.

I rented from ACE twice, both in Wellington, so I'll comment on both. The first time, an older gentleman helped me. He was very slow typing and wasted a lot of time; it took almost an hour to get the car. The second time, a young lady assisted me. She was very professional and kept pushing for the quick claim service, repeating it multiple times. The Auckland branch is good, with early opening hours—starting at six in the morning.

Like: Easy to deal with staff. Good product at good price.

Like: The staff were very friendly & knowledgeable. No hard sell of additional products. Easy collection point next to terminal building.
Dislike: Car had very high milage but worked fine.

Dislike: Pick up was too long, could be shorter as all details were given over net

I do not recommend fellow Chinese travelers to choose this car rental company. It's a very small company in New Zealand with very few staff. If your English isn't good enough to communicate with them, you may find yourself at the shop with no one to assist you, and none of our questions were resolved. The condition of the car was mediocre as well; it was an old Nissan Sunny. One day, we encountered strong winds in New Zealand, and the car was shaking on the road, which was quite dangerous.

Dislike: The car was light it wobbled in the wind.
