Very bad. They didn't require a tire inspection when picking up the car and tried to sell us scratch insurance, which we declined. Upon return, the inspector claimed there were scratches on the tires and said they would deduct from the deposit card for repairs (basically, they were going to replace the tires). No argument worked; we demanded to confront the staff who handed over the car, but they ignored us.
There was no clear indication that the return time had to match the pickup time to the hour, and exceeding it by one hour costs the full day's fee, 200 pounds! Quite unreasonable.
I don't plan to praise them because my experiences made me realize that the well-known Hertz doesn't have significant advantages over other companies, and sometimes it's even worse than smaller companies.
I originally booked a Mercedes-Benz B-Class, but was given a Skoda Octavia instead. The difference is quite significant. The staff at pickup had a very indifferent attitude, saying take this one or there’s no car. Upon return, we were charged £135 for a minor scratch, plus a £35 handling fee. It felt like robbery!
I booked a car similar to the Tiguan, but actually got a Hyundai i35. They didn't let me choose the color, and the only car available on site was not the color I wanted. The rental period was quite long, and I wasn't very lucky because one of the tires got punctured. I was charged nearly 200 pounds for it when returning the car. It was just a Hankook tire, and they almost charged 350 pounds as if it were a Continental tire. The pick-up location is not at the airport, which is not very convenient.

Don\'t rent from this company just because it is cheap. The company\'s value is also extremely low. I rented a Citroen at Gatwick airport. At pick up, they did not thoroughly check the car with me. I parked the car for most of the two days (which was part of the reason I decided to rent from this company, I never rented a car from such an unknown company). At return, they checked extremely thoroughly and found a very fine scratch. They verbally told me there will be a repair fee of around twenty Pounds. Plus, I was in a rush to catch my flight, so I didn't fill up the tank all the way, which added another ten Pounds or so. Altogether, there was around thirty Pounds to pay. As I was about to miss my flight and the amount was quite minimal, I told them I would just pay it. I put forty Pounds cash on their desk, but they said they don\'t accept cash. So I used my credit card and left. A couple of days later, I found out that they had charged 324 Pounds on my credit card. I asked the booking aggregator to verify the charge, and they came back saying the rental company said that was the correct charge. I will never use this company again and advise everyone not to use this company.

The scratch was so fine that you had to look extremely closely to see it, and it was definitely not caused by me. I will never use this rental company again, and I advise everyone not to use this company.
Like: Friendly and easy going staff at their Gatwick location. When faced with some issues on the booking and with the car; it was easily dealt with and we were away with no dramas. Equally friendly at the other end of our one way drop off in Oxford. Dislike: The fact that I left my child's car seat in the vehicle and it hasn't turned up yet. Not exactly their fault, but would have liked to see some sort of follow up on this by now; as it's been several days since I reported it. Hopefully, it will be located and we can get it back to Australia without too much drama.
We waited at the North Terminal bus station of Gatwick Airport in London for a while before a shuttle from the rental company picked us up. The car pickup process wasn't pleasant. My husband’s Chinese license translation wasn't accepted. I showed my UK license but was told it would cost £15 to call and verify its authenticity with the DVLA, although they didn't ultimately charge the £15. The staff had a very bad attitude. Also, because I bought full insurance from Zuzuche, they said it wasn't valid, and any scratch or minor issue found on return would result in a £2800 charge to my card, leaving me to claim with my insurance company back home. We drove very carefully and argued with each other a lot. Luckily, there were no issues when returning the car. I’ve learned my lesson and won't choose a rental company with low rental fees but high insurance excess again. It spoiled our trip's joy.
