additional charges were outrages! i was late for the pick up cause of canceled flight, delayed train ride etc. So first i was convinced it was their after working hours so i will be charged! then they have had some nicer cars where i can pick for an upgrade where i was charged 30% then realized they dont even have my prefred calls and would have to give me one of the upgrades anyway. then i was told they will wvae the addtional after hours service charge however what i see in my invoice is addtional charges and plus taxes on those charges... finally i pay more then the rental value that i paid to QeeQ to addtional service cahrges to rent the car! what is a service fee if your job is to supply a rental car? i will never ever pick a car from either Hertz or Thrifty!
Average. There is a mileage limit. You'll be charged if you exceed it. Pay attention to this detail. I didn't notice the mileage limit and exceeded it by 800 euros.
The service was mediocre. We booked a Volkswagen Golf but ended up with a Dacia, a car I've never heard of. It was clearly the lowest trim in the all-road category.
Got downgraded because of a fair in Cologne.
But without a refund!!! Europcar is only a good choice when it is much cheaper than Sixt.
Long waiting time at counter.
Only problem was (but it's hopefuplly being solved) that they have tried to charge extra day, even if the car was returned 5 hours earlier and not later.
I've rented from Europcar many times, and their service is quite good. Since I handled everything early, I arrived right when they opened and processed everything smoothly without waiting.
They just wouldn't give me the car, so I had to rent another one from Sixt at the last minute. It's been half a month now and I'm still waiting for after-sales service.
