The worst possible experience after collecting the car and absolute failure of Alamo to come back to me regarding the issue of a lost car key. I have now been back 2 days and still have no further information. Terrible service and an absolute farce.
I ordered a vw Passat due to large boot size but they didn’t have any on site. The other cars in the same category have smaller boots so we had to pay An extra 134 chf for an upgrade to a car with bigger boot (still smaller than a vw Passat estate)
Return location address and direction was terrible, not given exact location Parking number which we found out much later, nothing mentioned on our contract.
They didn't have any snow chains and we were going into the mountains so they upgraded us to a Cadillac Escalade. The car is everything that's wrong with humanity but it was a nice gesture. My only gripe was that when I dislocated my shoulder skiing and we had to put another driver on for the journey back they tried to charge us for an extra driver for the whole week.
I've rented from BUDGET multiple times. Their attentive service and detailed explanations are very satisfactory. The cars are in excellent condition, and the process of picking up and returning the car is very convenient, as it's just a short walk from the airport. It was a pleasant surprise for us.
Even though we already had full insurance from back home and had a local Chinese speaker who knew some French with us, the front desk still scammed us into buying the car rental company’s full insurance. Very unpleasant experience!
The car rental company tried to upsell us to a BMW. The African American agent was somewhat dismissive and not very patient.
He didn't seem willing to provide us with useful information, overall it felt insincere.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly-I reallyy liked the fact that when taking the car over a member of staff checked the car with you to ensure that there were no damages that hadn't been noted already and did the same at the drop off.As we had used Alamo before, they also gave us a free upgrade to a larger vehicle,which was very kind of them.

You feel like you're awaited and not just a customer.
The desk is not really in the airport building but just next to it and they make sure to get you at the airport and bring you back there...No big deal. If you're unsure, you can even walk there it's 5'. I've booked previously in the airport, no big difference!
