I had purchased full insurance from Zuzuche, and Zuzuche had informed Hertz about this. However, Hertz still added full insurance costing over $300 without asking me, which is about two-thirds of the total cost for my 11-day rental. In addition, they charged more than $60 for 'store service fee' and over $60 for VAT, totaling $479. I have not received any breakdown from Hertz for these charges. I only learned about these charges by inquiring with Zuzuche.
Six months ago, I rented a car from Thrifty through Zuzuche, and there were no such issues; I received the bill immediately after returning the car. Hertz is an internationally known company, yet they are so deceptive and non-transparent. I hope to get an explanation from Hertz.
The staff at the shop were very patient and attentive. They gave me a Mazda 5 diesel SUV with a larger trunk space when I showed my membership card. The car was equipped with GPS and was very new, making it easy to drive all the way.
