The contract details with Avis were not as clear as with Hertz, and the on-site charges were higher than the online rates. In New Zealand, we used Hertz on the South Island and Avis on the North Island, and Hertz was definitely better.
They discriminate against Chinese tourists, serving foreigners first and have hidden charges.
