There was no Chinese-speaking staff when picking up the car, which caused the process to take over half an hour!!! Did not purchase their expensive insurance!!! The staff told me the car had damage (after about 10 minutes of poor translation), but I couldn't understand where the damage was, how many spots, or if it would affect driving!!! When returning the car, I drove around the airport three times before finding the designated drop-off location. The navigation was useless (couldn't direct to the specific location)!!! Trying to contact the rental company was impossible (couldn't understand English, no Chinese-speaking staff)!

AVIS is really terrible!! We booked a car, but it wasn't available, so they just gave us another one saying it's the same class, even though they had already pre-authorized my credit card. We had no choice! No one checked the car with us. When we said the vehicle showed oil was low, the mechanic pushed it off to the office saying they hadn't reset it, and the office just pushed it back. It was an endless back-and-forth. And the rental platform just acts as a broker and didn't confirm whether the specific car was actually available. When we returned the car, they didn't check it either and just directly charged the pre-authorized amount from my credit card. I found out they overcharged by a few thousand dollars, claiming we exceeded the mileage limit. Thankfully, I had taken a photo of the odometer when we picked up the car. It was 35,000 km but their bill stated 34,000, an extra 1,000 km. They didn't inform us or verify and directly charged us. I complained two days ago, but no response yet. Luckily, I'm still in the country and planning to go directly to the store to discuss this.

The Avis Nerang team are sensational folks extremely caring and compassionate. I stupidly declined excess reduction insurance and this cost me a lot of money now.

Perhaps way to many repeated car hire offers.
