An excellent car rental experience! Cizgi includes full insurance, and I only upgraded with a €5 per day quick claim insurance without any additional upselling.
I rented an Egea but had the option to choose a similar class Opel Corsa or Dacia Duster. I picked the latter for its larger space. The mileage was over 30,000 km, and the car was comfortable to drive, though the NVH performance could be better.
In two days, I spent just over 600 RMB — incredibly affordable! I also paid 120 Lira for highway tolls after driving about 200 km on highways; the cost wasn’t high. Over two days, I parked roadside as I would back home without spending anything on parking. The rental was a full-to-full fuel policy. I refilled with 1,000 Lira of gas, drove 260 km, and still had over 100 Lira worth of fuel left.
Overall, compared to taxi fares, renting a car in Turkey, especially if you avoid city driving, offers amazing cost-efficiency and convenience. Next time, I’ll consider renting an even better car.
Maybe it's because of the promotions on Xiaohongshu, it was off-season at the airport and other companies had no customers, but there were several people in line at this one. Each person took about 10 minutes.
I bought additional glass and tire insurance on QEEQ, but the staff told me that for domestic purchases, even small scratches require a police report for reimbursement. However, for scratches, the police wouldn't come out. They cover car damage but not scratches. In the end, they convinced me to buy the cheapest insurance. I calculated that it's better to buy the insurance at the rental store rather than buying it in advance because the prices are similar. You don't need to buy it twice, and you avoid the hassle of being upsold. The service is also better at the rental store, and you have to buy it anyway.
The car was pretty good, relatively new, the road conditions were nice, and there weren’t many cars on the road. Returning the car was quick, less than five minutes.
Overall, it was okay. Initially, they told us that the 5008 we booked was not available and upgraded us to a larger car. When we got to the parking lot, we saw they had given us two giant nine-seat Mercedes. Considering our road trip would involve many narrow roads, big cars would be inconvenient, so we declined. Then the staff made a phone call and managed to get us two 5008s. I'm not sure why they said they weren't available before. Returning the car was very quick; they barely checked anything.
The vehicle has driven 100,000 kilometers, and its condition is not very good.
