After picking up the car, I noticed severe brake pad wear. A few days later, it started making noise, and within a week, it became completely undrivable. I tried contacting Hertz but couldn't get through, and it was actually Zuzuche that helped me reach them. I ended up repairing the car myself, which took an entire day. Hertz didn't provide any explanation or solution. Very dissatisfied.
The car had over 100,000 kilometers on it. The day after I got the car, the tire burst (the previously repaired area ruptured), the parking brake was stuck and couldn't be released. I reported the issue before 10 AM and contacted the rental company, asking for a replacement because I had over 1,000 kilometers left on my trip and didn't feel safe driving it. The rental company only offered roadside assistance and said there were no replacement vehicles available. It wasn't until 1:30 PM that the assistance personnel arrived to put on a spare tire and manually fix the stuck brake. After following him to the repair center and discussing the car's safety, the store finally considered replacing the car. When I contacted the rental company customer service again, they still said they couldn't replace the car, only repair it, showing a complete lack of communication and consistency. I had to repeatedly ask the assistance center myself. Avoid this store at all costs! I kept urging them, fearing the repairs would delay my trip to Pattaya in the afternoon. They insisted on repairing instead of replacing the car, and in the 36-degree heat, I had to deal with this mess. It wasn't until nearly 4 PM that I got the replacement car. The person who brought the new car arrived with a smile and apologized for being late. Clearly, they had a car all along. We were three women, and one of my friends was in tears from frustration. I've rented cars for many years, and Hertz is definitely one to avoid!
