The car was in poor condition with 130,000 kilometers on it, the floor mats were worn out, and the air conditioner wasn't working. The staff kept pushing insurance and talking about potential accidents.
They kept pushing insurance sales. No one was there for airport pickup, which made us wait anxiously for a long time. The phone number was wrong and it wasn't the store's number. Plus, our domestic phone couldn't connect.
This was the worst car rental experience I’ve had abroad. First, the car pickup was outside the airport, and the rental service notification stated there would be an airport shuttle. However, upon arrival, there was no one there. After contacting the rental service, we waited nearly an hour for the shuttle. Second, we had purchased full insurance through the rental service, but the rental company didn’t acknowledge it and demanded a deposit of 350 euros and an additional 90 euros for their insurance. We refused to buy the insurance, but they insisted that our card couldn’t process the transaction, even though the card was functioning normally every day and had worked fine at another car rental just days earlier. We offered to pay in euros cash, but they refused to accept it, repeatedly emphasizing that paying 90 euros for their insurance would waive the deposit requirement. Left with no choice, we paid the fee, wasting 2.5 hours of our trip. Then came the climax: on a steep uphill road in Cappadocia, the car’s engine alarm went off, smoke started coming out, and the system indicated the engine was overheating and needed to cool down. We were left with no choice but to coast in neutral to a flat area and park. After contacting the rental service to request a replacement car and adding the car rental company on WhatsApp, they shockingly claimed this was normal, refused to provide a replacement, and didn’t give any explanation either. We had no option but to wait around 4 hours. When we restarted the car, there was a burnt smell, but we managed to drive it back to the hotel. Considering the car’s condition, we had to shorten our itinerary for the next day, resulting in cutting out nearly one-third of our planned activities in Cappadocia.
At Kayseri Airport, there were many rental car companies picking up customers, but this Nissa rental company completely forgot about me. Their phone was unreachable, and to make things worse, their location was incorrect!
