CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON WINDYCAR IN ISTANBUL

The Beijing to Istanbul direct flight arrives in the morning, around 5 AM. I waited at the rental company's counter for over three hours.

There were significant issues with both picking up and dropping off the car.

The staff were very friendly and even took us to refuel the car!

1. Upon arrival at Sabiha Airport on 8/6, there was no representative from the rental company waiting at the arrivals area. When we called, we could not communicate effectively in English. 2. Eventually, we took a taxi from the airport to the address provided in the pickup instructions for 25 lira, but couldn't find the rental company. We had to get another taxi and made an international call to the rental company, letting the taxi driver speak directly to get the directions. This taxi cost 18 lira. 3. We finally found the small rental company next to a gas station. The staff was quite friendly. 4. One of the staff members spoke slightly better English, but communication was still challenging. They gave us a Hyundai i20 instead of the POLO we booked, as it was of a similar class, which I didn't mind. However, it turned out to be a manual transmission. After pointing out that we booked an automatic POLO, they switched us to a Nissan MICRA with automatic transmission. 5.

The rental company staff did not speak English. Luckily, I had a Turkish friend who helped communicate in Turkish, so we managed to return the car without any problems. Otherwise, I don't know what trouble we would have faced.
