CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON APEX AT QUEENSTOWN AIRPORT, ZQN

We had to call 3 times before someone would pick us up at the airport, although we were at the correct pick-up spot. In all, we lost close to 30 min.

The car I got from this rental company is really old compared to others. The power is poor and the car isn't very clean.

Generally fast

Walked to the service counter. Directed straight to service, no queue.

The Queenstown branch is small with inefficient customer service, and there were long queues. We were attended by a young male staff member who was very unfriendly and had a cold demeanor throughout. When we had questions after picking up the car, we had to wait too long, causing our children to be exposed to the sun. When we urged him, he started pointing fingers at us while speaking. The online claims about Apex's poor attitude towards Chinese customers seem to be true. However, all the local people we met during our New Zealand road trip were very friendly.

Good car, comfortable, good experience. Staff is able to help by telephone, everything oké. Either at the third party rentals website or at Apex it would be good to mention better that an English drivers licence is needed in New Zealand to prevent any surprises at the counter!

Navigation tool wasn't included in the charge, had to pay extra to get it.

The car was fabulous. The gps we paid extra for was terrible but they refunded it with no questions on drop off.

Overall fine

Like: Queenstown was great. Our Air BnB wa absolutely fantastic with amazing views. Hire car was exactly the right size and easy to drive.
Dislike: Car didn’t have much power

This car was fairly old and probably should be taken out of service. It has over 150,000 km in it and does not have some of the now basic options of most cars like cruise control, usb plug and backup camera. The car did the job, but felt a bit clunky so I was sometimes scared it would break down on me.

Like: Friendly staff and convenient location
Dislike: The car wasn't ready at the time I booked it from. It was probably an hour late in total.

Like: We were given a free upgrade. Very friendly staff with excellent communication skills.
Dislike: We were happy with everything.

The staff were all efficient, helpful and friendly.

all fine too bad I did not book with the directly. they would not have charged me anything for the Interislander ferry

Like: MAINLY EVERTHING. EXCEPT OTHER NZ DRIVERS ARE ALWAYS IN A HURRY
Dislike: OTHER DRIVERS
