There was no explanation of the features of the car, on pickup in Hobart.
Staff member at Launceston, where we called in and later dropped off the car was excellent.
Difficulties with the Cruise Control which was regularly but intermittently failing to activate caused distraction from the task of driving, and the risk of rear-end collision when the car decelerated instead of maintaining Cruise speed.
On two occasions, the Cruise Control accelerated the vehicle significantly above the set speed, on level roads. On one occasion, the vehicle accelerated to 20 km/hour above the set speed, before I managed to get the speed under control. As these incidents were around traffic, this was dangerous.
On several occasions, the Cruise Control caused the vehicle to suddenly, and swiftly, decelerate from the set speed, as if the driver had braked the vehicle. This nearly resulted in several rear-end accidents.
Difficulties with the Cruise Control ruined what was an otherwise great driving experience, and placed up to 4 travellers at risk of accident.

I had privilege of renting brand new car ( 35 miles on tachometer). Besides of 'no problem car', I specially appreciate most effective rent-desk of Europcar at Hobart International Airport - despite of them serving to several clients of arrived flights, and despite of us coming to the desk last, we were all sorted within just fractions of minutes, which is incredible.
The same had happened at drop-off, when - while we were still around our car , sorting our own luggage - man from the Europcar was already with us and all was sorted with zero waiting time before we sorted even our own things. That was truly exceptional. Well done, Hobart Europcar!
I'm completely speechless about the car rental company's customer service this time. 1. Normally, car rental refunds take about 10 days, but they said it takes one to two months, which they claim is normal. 2. When I bought insurance, local insurance was over 400, while the rental company's insurance was less than 200. Of course, I chose their insurance. However, when I got there, local insurance was only a bit over 200, and when I hit a kangaroo and the accident was my fault, the company's insurance wouldn't cover it, while the local insurance would. So, I ended up paying for all the damages despite having full coverage from the rental company. They just told me over the phone that they wouldn't cover it and never contacted me again or communicated with the local rental company. Because I didn't have local insurance, the rental company insisted on towing the car back, charging me towing fees, additional fees for not refueling due to the towing, and service fees. My car had no issues, even the police confirmed it. I paid for the other driver's damages, but the rental company wouldn't refund me for the days the car wasn't driven. They claimed local laws allowed this, but when I asked them to show me the law, they went silent and handled nothing. I had to resolve everything directly with the rental company. Between the rental company and their insurance, I felt completely scammed.
When signing the contract at the airport office, maybe due to communication issues, I couldn't determine the total rental price from the staff or the contract on the handheld display. So I couldn't tell if any additional charges were included.
The wait time was incredibly long. They didn't send an electronic contract. The windshield was broken, and they still haven't contacted me about the insurance.
