I had to pay over 300 CHF for refuelling because I came with a less than full car. This is outrageous, and a lot more than I am used to from the other large car rental agencies.
Quick and easy to find. Simple procedures. Swipe card and sign to pick up the car (Deposit hasn't been returned yet, but there shouldn't be any issues).
It's always better to choose a major rental company and buy full insurance, as it makes problem resolution easier. On our first day, we didn't notice the car's tire was damaged until the evening. After contacting QEEQ, we went to the rental company the next day and directly swapped for a new car. The process was easy, and we didn’t even need to visit the counter; we just took the new car from the parking lot.
The lady at the counter was quick and polite during pickup. The guy at the parking area was enthusiastic and helpful, making the whole process fast and pleasant. The services on the QEEQ website were also very reliable, allowing for quick and professional itinerary changes. Most of the rental cars seem to have plates starting with AI, so locals will generally know it's a rental. No need to worry about driving speed or yielding.
I've been renting cars from the same store for at least 60 days each year, and they've never offered an upgrade. This time, the car was extremely small. Try to avoid them if possible.
Not bad, there was no excessive upselling of insurance. We booked a Ford Focus but ended up with an Opel Corsa. Although it might be considered a car of the same class, it felt smaller than the Focus to me.
The staff at the pickup location was very nice, quietly and quickly handling the paperwork. He asked about insurance, and after I declined, the process continued smoothly. The cross-border fees were waived, which I truly appreciated! When returning the car, the store staff had already left, so I dropped the car key into Hertz's self-service return box. The car was parked about 30 meters ahead of the store, in the corner of a used-car parking lot.
Very satisfied. The staff was very patient, and upon learning that we would mainly be driving in Switzerland, they swapped our car on the spot for a slightly larger Lexus LBX hybrid, which was very fuel-efficient for mountain roads.
