Unbelievable or despicable that Budget and Hertz, which are probably different brands from the same company, hire only one employee each for pick-up desk. Especially at a time when a long haul flight (read with many passengers) lands. Hard to understand why pick-up procedures take so long. Took more than 60 minutes overall. And I was lucky to be 4 or 5th in the line. They must have been over 20 when I finished...

The budget counter at the YUL airport was the worst car rental experience I’ve ever had. 100 people waiting and 1 person working, and no cars available despite reservations. It was appalling.

Car was great. It was an suv so bugger than expected but great.

Je suis arrivé au comptoir et l’agent m’a surclasser à la place de mon véhicule prédéfinis j’ai u une bmw x3 j’ai du payé 18 dollars part jours en plus vue y’avait pas de véhicule le seule problème rencontré je suis un peut dessus d’avoir payé en plus chaque jours

Budget rep was very friendly and helpful. Process was efficient & quick. An airport pickup so the line was a bit long fbut manageable.

You must purchase additional insurance to pick up the car; otherwise, they won't give you the vehicle. After coordinating with QEEQ, the customer service was very impatient and eventually stopped answering QEEQ's calls. QEEQ advised me to pay first and resolve it later. After repeated confirmation with customer service, they stated it was insurance related to the tires. When I returned the car and received the invoice, I noticed hidden charges for something I didn't understand. QEEQ indicated that the tire-related charges could be refunded, but the other would require an appeal. This deceptive experience was particularly distressing.

The staff handling the procedures was not focused, leaving the office for 6/7 minutes at a time, and often helping his colleague when he was there. The process took more than 40 minutes. I think you should complete your own tasks before helping others, right? Besides, he made several mistakes filling out the forms, which had to be corrected multiple times.

Long wait time for pickup

There was practically no line, and the car pickup process was very simple. Recommend paying in advance for better rates.

When we arrived at the airport pickup location at around 8 a.m., the line was very long, but there were only two service staff, so the wait time was long.

Arrived at the car rental location on time, only to be offered a lower grade vehicle. They insisted it was an SUV as per the reservation. After over an hour of negotiation, the manager finally intervened and provided the reserved model.

We arrived at the Budget/Avis counter at Montreal Trudeau International Airport around 8 AM, but there was no one there, even though their business hours state they open at 6 AM. A middle-aged woman showed up after 8, looking very displeased as if we had disturbed her sleep. We handed her our rental voucher, and she processed the pickup and added an additional driver at my request, explaining that for spouses, there is no extra charge. Initially, we were happy as it saved us some money. However, when we reached the parking lot, we saw they had given us a Chevrolet Spark, the same model we originally got from Alamo in Vancouver, which has a trunk too small to fit two suitcases. Alamo eventually replaced it with a new Golf. We went back to the counter to request a different car, but the lady's attitude worsened, saying they had no cars of the type we booked and that if we wanted a bigger car, only a C-class KIA was available for an additional 10 CAD per day. We argued that since they didn’t have our booked car, the upgrade should be free. She insisted that the Spark was in the same group as our booked car and that we needed to pay for a larger one if desired. We then contacted Mr. Zhang from your Guangzhou headquarters, who had provided excellent service before our trip and left us his WeChat for any issues. We reached him via WeChat voice, and after hearing our situation, he agreed that the other party was at fault and promised that the customer service would call us soon. Your company’s customer service called quickly, communicated with Budget, but it seemed like the problem wasn’t resolved. The customer service suggested we agree to the upgrade fee to complete our trip and discuss it later. Meanwhile, the woman had already given the KIA to someone else, implying we no longer had that option. Ultimately, they gave us a Hyundai Elantra, charging us an additional 32 CAD, with the remaining amount to be charged upon vehicle return. Being forced to upgrade for a fee left us very dissatisfied with Budget.

Picking up and returning the car was convenient, and the service was good.

The waiting time was a bit long, but the car pickup process was very simple. Excellent!

The car was not correct! I booked and paid for a foord explorer 7 seater or similar but only got a Jeep 6 seater. Not the same and I paid extra for 7 seater! I went back to ask the budget cars rep and he said it was a 7 seater. But it was not and they would not check it over and said there was no more cars. We had to then pay for uber trips for the 7th passenger! This is no acceptable when I booked well in advance a 7 seater for 7 passengers.

The service of the counter staff was horrible. The person does not accept my canadian credit card because my driving license was french. This forced me to pay with my french card and to buy a supplement for the insurance whereas I am covered by my canadian credit card... Moreover, the car was smaller than requested through the website.

I arrived late at the airport and there was only one staff serving a long queue of costumers but there were obviously some other staff available in the back office.
