Pick-up Instructions

The MEX - San Diego Airport car hire location is located out of the airport

You can arrive of MEX - San Diego Airport car hire by free shuttle bus.

Once you arrive, please proceed to the Airport Shuttle Service and go to the Car Rental Facility. Our Shuttles are blue with the Mex Rent A Car logo. You can also call directly to the local office 619-255-9094 for shuttle pick up at the Car Rental Facility. if you need to report any issue at pickup or during the rental frame time，pls contact Mex customer service team at +52 (33) 4170 8243 or at customer.care@mexrentacar.com

Drop-off Instructions

Please return the vehicle to the car rental store. A free shuttle will then bring you back to the airport.

Driver's License Requirements

The main driver and any additional drivers will need to provide a physical full driving license in their name with no major endorsements. The license should be held for at least 1-2 year(s).

For foreign renters, you need to bring:

When I called to ask if I could pick up the vehicle earlier, they told me NO. I did show up early and was able to collect the car. There is only one person to operate the shuttle, wash and prepare the cars so that does take time.

I reserved an intermediate car, a Hyundai. At arrival I was told Easyrent overbooked, I would get a mini van. I voiced my concern that I did not want a mini van. Customers who arrived after me were told they also would get a mini van, but then they got a car. I was told I could call and switch to a car the next day, maybe. Not acceptable.

My reservation was for 8:00 pm. When I arrived at 7:30 pm, the facility was already closed. I spend over 2-hours trying to get a hold of someone. When I called the local number, it just rang and rang. I finally got a hold of someone at the corporate number. They told me to wait 5-10 minutes for someone to pick me up to get a car. After 20 minutes, I gave up and rented from another rental company.
