CALGARY AIRPORT CAR RENTAL REVIEWS

The service was good, there are many counters at the airport so picking up the car was quite fast. However, the car I got was not cleaned after the previous renter returned it.

There was no Chinese service at both the pickup and drop-off locations. I booked the car for 3:30 PM, but I had to wait at the airport for over four hours until almost 8 PM to get the car. I bought the insurance recommended by the staff, who said that I didn't need to return the car with a full tank. This already made me unhappy. Additionally, they gave me a brand-new car with a very strong new car smell. Especially after being parked and exposed to the sun for a while, the smell inside the car was so strong that I felt nauseous. During our self-driving trip, I didn't dare to close the windows. This rental experience made my family very unhappy during the trip.

There are insurance and towing upsells, but you can decline them.

The car was similar to the Chevrolet Tahoe that we booked. We were given a Jeep Wagoner instead. It was a very big and spacious vehicle for our road trip. The customer service was excellent and smooth on both pick up and drop off. The only issue was the charge for a tank of fuel was a lot more expensive than if we purchased our own fuel.

The booking platform was very easy to use to compare vehicles and rental companies. My booking was held using my credit card. However, I needed to cancel my credit card for a security issue. The booking was thankfully not cancelled as a result and I contacted customer services to make a payment via an alternative credit card. The customer service was excellent.

Hidden charges (out of province fee of $50 per day / rental car insurance fee of $10 per day) plus others more than doubled the initial hire fee. Terrible & deceitful tactics designed to gauge the customer without any other option really of changing to another provider. NEVER USE AGAIN!

Additional charges need to be more clearly stated at the time of booking.

Great customer service on collection and drop off.

Overall good and smooth. However, the queue for Avis pick-up was very long. Be prepared for a wait. It took almost an hour during the day. Compared to other rental companies nearby, there was hardly any queue. Probably due to the good prices and high demand.

Great service and clear communication from Zaharia (guy from India or Pakistan) - very charming and smooth service

Booked through QEEQ platform, applied for a translation in advance, and bought full insurance. At the counter, they only charged a 1-dollar deposit. Reserved a Toyota Corolla, but it wasn't available at pickup. The staff casually pointed to a nearby Hyundai Venue, which was new, and there was no extra charge, so we took it. Full tank on pickup and return. Noticed a scratch on the right door at pickup, took photos according to the guidelines. Return was smooth with clear signage. Rented for 3 days to visit Banff; couldn't make it to Jasper due to the wildfire.

The staff member who gave me the vehicle was relatively unbothered about customer service and just went through the motions. Often mumbling through terms and conditions and in particular any additional damage waivers, despite me taking out a full policy through QEEQ so the thrifty policy was not needed.

Very nice! I initially thought I couldn't rent the car without a translated document. QEEQ's customer service told me how to get a quick translation, and then the rental company helped me print it out, so I was able to rent the car.

They didn't have the car I ordered. Offered an alternative smaller car which didn't suit our needs. At first they told me to wait for 20 minutes for the car to arrive but after 2 minutes they give me an upgraded car that they had on premise.

The price tracking feature is fantastic, it reduced the price by a couple tens of dollars.
