I had booked a Tucson and they gave us a small jeep and it was totally a terrible experience driving us.
they delivered the car almost 0 fuel and they told us to deliver it that which as you know it is impossible to deliver a tank 0 fuel and that resulted in them getting the car back 20% tank and re-imbursement
Staff speaks good English. However, I was charged extra (30 TL per day) because goldcar claims that i have been driving for less than 5 years based on my current driving license that was renewed on 2015 and demanded i show proof that I have been driving for more than 5 years.
Also, goldcar tried to sell me insurance for collision damage waiver even though i show the booking voucher where I have purchased insurance.
During pick-up, the staff didn't inform us that there was a card for exiting the airport parking in the registration document, and it was taken away by the staff. We found out about the card only at return and had to pay a fee. The staff handling the car return spoke only Turkish, using a translation app which led to communication issues and misunderstandings. They also didn't inform us about potential extra charges, which felt quite bewildering.
Arrived at the airport at 10:30 PM. One staff member was at the counter, and two were in the parking lot. Overall service was decent, neither enthusiastic nor rude. The car model was not as booked—we reserved a Volvo but got a Peugeot. The staff explained that they haven’t had that model of Volvo recently and were unsure how the platform handled the communication.
Initially, the car pickup experience was pleasant, and the service was good. However, the car return process was extremely disappointing. After entering the airport, there were no clear signs, and there were no staff members at the return point. Even after contacting them to come to the departure hall, they never showed up. My flight was about to take off, yet they asked me to go back to the parking lot and leave the keys in the car.
