Like: I liked the time spent picking up the car. The attendant was quick but still friendly and had me on my way in no time. Was also very helpful. Dislike: There was nothing that I didn't like.
They first gave us a Nissan with over 30,000 kilometers and stains on both front seats. We asked for a change at the counter and were given a car slightly larger than a Mini Cooper. They insisted it was the same class. I explained that we couldn't fit three people and three pieces of luggage, but the counter staff said the SUVs I booked were usually for two people, implying we needed an extended version for more than two. The lot had many SUVs the same size as the Nissan, but the counter said they were all booked and only these two cars were available. We ended up taking the stained car. The price is high, but we chose this company for the Chinese roadside assistance, hoping we never need to use it.
After I specifically asked if there were any charges beyond what I prepaid, I was told no. However, in the end, I was charged nearly 30 dollars. This 30-dollar insurance fee was neither explained nor asked if I needed it. I even asked before signing, but this just feels like taking advantage of me not reading the English contract. Even if I did read it, it wouldn't have helped—they just lied.
Like: The person in the Alamo office helped me to configure the car (folding down and stowing the seats in the van--it was a BIG job that I never would have accomplished on my own). I think his name is Mohamed. Dislike: Nothing.
Because we had a lot of luggage, we booked a mid-to-large car (Chevrolet Malibu). However, at pickup, they could only provide a compact car (Volkswagen Jetta), so we had to fold down part of the rear seat to fit the luggage.
Like: The vehicle was exactly what we reserved,we have a little problem,we had to change the oil,but it was a 40 minute of "trouble",everything else was great. Dislike: The time what we spent finding out on customer service what to do with a car when the engine control lamp showed up.
Like: helpfully customer service Dislike: that the airplane was late and the counter closes at 12 midnight. this cause me to get a ride more than 30 miles away and get a ride back later on in the day
