Easiest car rental I’ve ever done

They required the car to be washed before returning it. It was a hassle as I had to find a car wash, and I didn’t know how to use the equipment. It wasted a lot of time and money.

The car is quite new and easy to pick up.

At first, the staff admitted that I had prepaid all the fees and said they wouldn't charge me again. But I immediately received a notification that my credit card was being pre-authorized for $1000. When I asked them, they told me to call the headquarters. The headquarters staff on the phone said the car rental company hadn't received payment from the rental platform. I called the rental platform, and they told me they settle accounts monthly with the rental company, and assured me there wouldn't be double billing. But in the end, I was double charged! Although the rental platform eventually refunded my money, I lost time and suffered from the exchange rate disparity!

Poor car condition and unreasonable price.

We arrived at the airport in the evening and found the car had issues. When we returned to the service desk to exchange the car, they said there were no cars of the same level available and asked us to come back the next day. We disagreed and after some negotiation, they finally gave us a replacement, which was quite good.

Issues with enhanced third-party insurance

Despite my complaint, I got a station wagon when I reserved a Charger. It guzzles gas and has no power! Terrible experience!

Alamo's service is really efficient. The counter is right at the arrivals level of Billings Airport. The car we got was very clean. The mini SUV could easily carry four adults through the ups and downs of Yellowstone Park without any issues. The counter clerk was cool and very nice. The rental return process was convenient and quick; self-refueling was based on trust, which felt reassuring.

I mistakenly thought my order included a GPS (it did not). I asked for a GPS, and they gave me one without explaining that it would incur an extra charge or the cost. I only found out that I was charged over $60 for the GPS when I checked my credit card statement after returning home.

We arrived late and there was no line. We were greeted by a female intern who was very friendly. Noticing that one of us had mobility issues, she kindly offered to drive the car to the entrance to make it easier for us to get in. It was very touching!

The condition of the car wasn't great. Besides some minor issues, they handed over the car with low tire pressure. The tire pressure light came on midway, making me very anxious as I thought it was a flat tire. I finally found a gas station to check it, and it turned out there was no puncture, just insufficient air in the tires at handover!
