Like: I was the driver and I loved the rental car. We did a lot of sight seeing with many miles between cities. I was never too tired from driving to participate in the fun. Dislike: Your service was the best I've had from a internet 3rd party auto rental.It was a smooth operation. Dollar was also a reason for that feeling.
The staff added multiple insurances without my consent even though I clearly stated I didn't want any extra insurance. The insurance cost is almost as high as the rental fee.
Like: The car was reasonably priced. Dislike: We requested a Toyota Corolla, (knowing full well that you don't always get what you request) but instead was issued a Red Kia Soul. Turns out the Red Kia Soul had a California license plate on the front and an Arizona license plate on the back. When we brought this to their attention, they wouldn't let us rent the car. They issued us a BLACK Kia Soul. Ever driven a BLACK car in Phoenix in the Summer? But there was a Toyota Corolla parked right next to the Black Kia Soul, and they wouldn't let us rent it either. None of the staff were very patient or helpful. It's like they were bothered that there were so many issues. We were the only customers at the time. Our plane landed at 9:30 pm and we left the rental car place at close to 11:00 pm. Still never knew why the Corolla (that was right there) was not available to rent.
Got the car at Phoenix airport, no waiting, free upgrade, no push to buy insurance. When we asked for full coverage, the staff asked if we had travel insurance and then explained that some parts of it overlap, so no need to buy extra. Very honest.
Like: They asked what I would like and they also made sure I had options! Dislike: Was told I would get a Kia Soul but got a Toyota Corolla! Little cramped compared to Kia but still a good car!
Like: The vehicle that I received was one that I like and it only had 12,000 miles. As a mid-size it had lots of tech bells and whistles, but didn't have an onboard GPS and console map display. Friendly staff that made it simple. Dislike: Nothing you can really do about the location of the rental car pickup. It was OK but not really close to the airport.
I booked a Chrysler 300 (or similar), but at the AVIS counter, we were informed that the car Rent-a-Car booked for us wasn't of that class, and they showed us the system page. Therefore, they could only offer us a Chevrolet 4-seater or a similar model. The agent told us that if we wanted to get the Chrysler 300, we needed to pay for an upgrade, otherwise, we could only get a 4-seater. Although Rent-a-Car's customer service promised to handle this issue after our call, AVIS froze a portion of our card funds and later sent us a bill at the end of the trip...
Like: The booking, pick up and drop off were a breeze. The vehicle was in good condition and service staff were friendly and professional. Will definitely use this service again.
Like: The car was fine and once we found it all went smoothly. Dislike: We rented from EasyRentCars.com and that's what came in the confirmation. There was a Confirmation Number as well as a Transaction # provided to us in the email confirmation. That's what we saved in the wireless calendar to have the data when onsite in PHX. Unless you specifically read the entire confirmation and scroll down... way down... you'd never know to look for the Dollar counter instead of the EasyCarRents counter. We visited the closest 'looks like' place-- EZ Rents-- and waited in line to find out that they believed our car was from Hertz. Waited in line at Hertz to find out they thought it was Budget. Budget thought it was either Thrifty or Dollar. Naturally, Dollar was the last counter in the row so naturally we asked at every stinkin' counter to find out what was printed on the very bottom of the confirmation sheet from EasyCarRents-- Dollar. Hey... make that a high-priority piece of data and move it to the top of the confirmation email. Or send a separate message saying "Check-in at the Dollar counter to get your car from us" or something to make it obvious where to find the rig....
