Tijuana is different from other places like Monterrey in Mexico; you have to pay for basic insurance upon arrival.

There was a slight push for extra insurance, but they didn't pursue it after I declined.

They couldn't find my booking.

There was no one when I arrived, so the process was quicker than others mentioned.

They wouldn't allow me to rent a car with my Chinese driver's license and a notarized translation. Instead, they charged me an extra $6 per day for a special waiver, costing me an additional $42. Probably because the price was lower, there were a lot of people picking up cars that day. It took about 40 minutes to complete the paperwork, and then another half hour to actually get the car. Overall, it was a very poor experience, and I won't choose this company again.
